The treatment plan is individualized for each patient and includes the following elements that are critical to wound healing and prevention:
- Comprehensive wound specific assessment
- Diagnostic testing
- Vascular assessment
- Nutritional assessment
- Infection control
- Wound debridement
- Edema control
- Pressure relief
- Advanced topical wound therapies
- Patient, caregiver and community education
Screenings & Education
The Would Healing & Prevention Institute also offers preventative screenings and education to alert people to problems that can be treated before a wound develops.

Physician referrals are our primary source of consultations. Additional sources include other health care professionals, self-referrals and insurance companies. After a patient completes treatment at the Wound Healing & Prevention Institute, the patient returns to the care of their personal physician.
