Volunteering to help others

When you volunteer, you give part of yourself and you follow in the footsteps of Christ by helping others. When you volunteer at Franciscan St. Francis Health - Indianapolis, your gift of time truly makes a difference in the lives of our patients and your community.

While opportunities exist to work in clinical units, the reality is that volunteers are able to serve in nearly every hospital department.

Our volunteer opportunities include:

If you would like to grow through service to others, learn new skills, develop new interests, make new friends and enjoy the rare satisfaction of helping others, then call now. We'd love to welcome you.

Call (317) 528-5192 for more information or to volunteer.

Who are the volunteers?
Men, women and teenagers (must be 14 years or older) who come from all walks of life, but share a common desire to help others. We have volunteers who are retirees, former patients, homemakers, husband and wife teams, professionals and students.

When do volunteers work?
Volunteers usually work once or twice a week for three to four hours at a time. Volunteers are needed seven days a week during the morning, afternoon and evening hours.

How will I know what to do?
All new volunteers go through an orientation and education day to familiarize them with the hospital and volunteer operations. In addition, when volunteers first assume their responsibilities, they work with other volunteers in the same position until they feel comfortable.
