Now ER is a new level of emergency care at Franciscan St. Francis Health – Indianapolis and is the most streamlined process around that significantly reduces wait time in the ER. Whether it is a big emergency or small emergency, we’ll see you quickly.
Our 63-room Indianapolis emergency department, located just north of I-65 at the County Line Road exit, features state-of-the-art equipment and is staffed by board-certified emergency physicians and nurses trained in acute care and trauma situations.
Our Indianapolis emergency department is one of 17 hospitals nationwide to receive the Lantern Award in 2014. The award recognizes a select group
of emergency departments demonstrating exceptional practice and
innovative performance in the core areas of leadership, practice,
education, advocacy and research.
The new Emergency Department includes the following features to make it quicker and easier for patients to receive high-quality emergency care:
- A new process of care to reduce wait time and treat patients faster.
- 63 treatment rooms.
- An accredited Chest Pain Center.
- Advanced radiology to decrease wait times for diagnostic imaging, which includes X-ray, low-dose CT Scanning and ultrasound.
Urgent care services are not available at our Emergency Departments. Please visit our Immediate Care Centers or Franciscan Physician Network After-Hours Clinics for non-emergency services during posted hours.

The Center of Hope at the Franciscan St. Francis Health-Indianapolis Emergency Department offers sexual assault and rape victims prompt and undivided attention for treatment of injuries.
