The Franciscan St. Francis Weight Loss Center helps people live healthier and longer lives through bariatric surgery and our physician-directed weight loss programs.
Everyone has a different family history, different life experiences and a different point of view. Weight loss is different for everyone, too. That’s why the Franciscan St. Francis Weight Loss Center offers a range of medical and surgical treatments for people who are struggling with extra weight:
- Bariatric surgery: Gastric sleeve and gastric bypass surgeries are recommended for patients with a BMI of 40 or higher, or patients with a BMI of 35 and higher and who have other medical conditions such as diabetes or sleep apnea.
- Medically supervised weight loss: One-on-one consultations with bariatric physicians and registered dieticians, and behavioral counseling are part of the program. Our medical weight loss program is recommended for people who have 20 pounds or more to lose, for patients for whom surgical weight loss is not an option, and for those who are considering surgery but need to meet a physician-directed weight loss requirement for their insurance plans.
- Support groups and classes. Teaching skills to help you achieve and maintain a healthy body weight.
- Individual consultation on exercise, nutrition or behavior management for weight loss for patients who prefer one-on-one interaction.
