Franciscan St. Elizabeth Health provides outstanding pediatric occupational, physical and speech therapy services in one location. The pediatric team treats children from infants to adolescents with a strong commitment to open communication between therapists and family.

Therapists use a variety of challenging activities to enhance children’s learning and to help them achieve their goals.

Social Skills Group for autistic children

Did you know Franciscan St. Elizabeth Health has a Social Skills Group for boys between the ages of 8 and 12 years old who have been diagnosed with Autism Spectrum Disorder? The group, led by an occupational therapist and speech therapist, allows the child to practice appropriate peer interactions in a natural environment. Parents are welcome to participate. Physical therapists take a whole body approach in teaching children improved balance, coordination, endurance and strength. Goals are set collectively by staff and parents. Our staff is additionally trained in kinesiotaping, infant massage, NDT, lite gait and orthotic fitting.

Occupational Therapy focuses on the integration of physical, sensory and cognitive abilities needed to function in daily life. Our pediatric occupational therapy staff is trained or certified in NDT, NOMAS feeding assessment, infant massage, Sonomas, therapeutic listening, interactive metronome, lymphedema and cranial sacral treatment techniques.

Speech Therapy focuses on providing comprehensive assessment and treatment of speech, language, cognitive-linguistic and swallowing disorders. Franciscan St. Elizabeth Health speech therapists hold the Certificate of Clinical Competence in Speech-Language Pathology (CCC-SLP) issued by the American Speech-Language Hearing Association or are clinical fellows.
