Pediatric Therapy

Franciscan St. Elizabeth Health provides outstanding pediatric occupational, physical and speech therapy services in one location. The pediatric team treats children from infants to adolescents with a strong commitment to open communication between therapists and family.

Therapists use a variety of challenging activities to enhance children’s learning and to help them achieve their goals.

Diagnoses we treat

Various diagnoses seen by the pediatric team include, but are not limited to:

  • Torticollis
  • Developmental delays
  • Oral motor dysfunction/feeding problems
  • Swallowing problems
  • Sensory processing disorder
  • Burns
Physical therapists take a whole body approach in teaching children improved balance, coordination, endurance and strength. Goals are set collectively by staff and parents. Our staff is additionally trained in kinesiotaping, infant massage, NDT, lite gait and orthotic fitting.

Occupational Therapy focuses on the integration of physical, sensory and cognitive abilities needed to function in daily life. Our pediatric occupational therapy staff is trained or certified in NDT, NOMAS feeding assessment, infant massage, therapeutic listening, interactive metronome, lymphedema and cranial sacral treatment techniques.

Speech Therapy focuses on providing comprehensive assessment and treatment of speech, language, cognitive-linguistic and swallowing disorders. Franciscan St. Elizabeth Health speech therapists hold the Certificate of Clinical Competence in Speech-Language Pathology (CCC-SLP) issued by the American Speech-Language Hearing Association or are clinical fellows.
