Stroke care at St. Elizabeth EastWhen you or a loved one is having a stroke, every single second counts.

Implemented on Jan. 1, 2013, the Stroke Alert is similar to a STEMI Alert for heart attacks. It is an advanced notification to our stroke care team prior to your arrival at the hospital.

The emergency triage desk is located just inside the entrance and is staffed by an Emergency Care Center team member 24 hours a day, seven days a week. The emergency team member will ask questions about your illness or injury and will bring you straight to a bed.

To help accelerate your care, the clinical staff will strive to see you at the same time so you only have to describe your medical condition once. Registration is done at the bedside after you’ve been seen by the clinician. You will be asked for basic information including birth date, address, phone number and health insurance.
