About the Emergency Center

• Open 24 hours a day, 7 days a week, 365 days a year.
• Shorter wait times to get you treated and on your way.
• Expedited services with 24/7 laboratory and imaging services on-site.
• Private emergency department bays, including a pediatric room and a specially designed trauma room that provides 360-degree access to the patient.
• Advanced EMS is available onsite to transport patients to a higher level of care if necessary.

Diagnostic Services​

A comprehensive set of on-site diagnostic services available 24/7 makes it possible for the Emergency Center to handle any medical emergency any time of day or night.

Our sophisticated services include:

• Laboratory Services (blood draw, urinalysis)
• General Radiology (X-ray)
• 64-Slice Computed Tomography (CT)
• Ultrasound
• Electrocardiography (EKG or ECG)
• Open Magnetic Resonance Imaging (MRI)
• Our Women's Breast Center offers full-field digital mammography
• Direct Capture technology – allows for instantaneous visualization of an x-ray image and reduce exam time by a factor of four
• Picture Archive Communication Systems - enables physicians quick access to X-ray, images, reports and orders​

The Chesterton Health & Emergency Center was specially designed with several state-of-the-art features, such as:

• LEED-certification, which provides independent, third-party verification that a building was designed and built using strategies aimed at achieving high performance in key areas of human and environmental health: sustainable site development, water savings, energy efficiency, materials selection and indoor environmental quality. LEED, or Leadership in Energy and Environmental Design, is granted by the U.S. Green Building Council. The facility achieved a Silver Certification by the Leadership in Energy and Environmental Design.

• A Community Room equipped with modern technology and available for educational and community meetings and activities.
