Mooresville, IN – Franciscan St. Francis Health and the Mooresville School Board have approved a 3-year agreement through which the Mooresville High School Athletic Department will gain opportunities to enhance the student-athlete experience and provide better coverage and services for athletic training needs.
Under the terms of the agreement, Mooresville will receive additional
and sports medicine services from Franciscan St. Francis Health to assist Mooresville Athletic Trainer Fred LaPlante and the 19 varsity sports programs. The agreement also provides support
for other Pioneer athletic, academic and health-related programs in exchange for exclusive Healthcare
Partnership rights and prominent sponsorship opportunities on scoreboards and game signage for Pioneer athletic facilities.

of wise stewardship for the benefit of our students and our greater Mooresville community.”
The sponsorship will allow Mooresville to focus investments on athletic facilities, enhancing the athletic experience for all those who attend Mooresville athletic events.

sports medicine event coverage will continue to support Mooresville student athletes for all varsity and junior varsity sports.
Sports medicine is a medical specialty that applies medical
and scientific knowledge to prevent, recognize, manage and rehabilitate injuries related to athletic activity. The athletic trainers placed from Franciscan St. Francis Health will be certified and licensed athletic trainers (ATC/LAT) and are highly skilled sports medicine professionals. Led by sports physicians Dr. Robyn Fean and Dr. Robert Malinzak, they will assist with the care and prevention of athletic injury for Mooresville student athletes and serve as the liaison between Mooresville head athletic trainer Fred LaPlante, physicians and coaches.
Franciscan St. Francis Health is a local resource
to Mooresville Schools
and the entire
community. St. Francis will also offer on-demand access to nursing guidance, training
& education resources, annual competencies, and physician oversight & phone access for issues that school nurses.

The partnership between St. Francis
and Mooresville Schools will begin the 2014-15 academic year. Mooresville High School is a full IHSAA member and a part of the Mid-State Conference.
