Hospital, clinic employees help St. Clare prenatal assistance program by collecting and donating needed items

Franciscan Physicians Hospital and Franciscan Hammond Clinic had a week long collection of goods during the month of October for St. Clare Health Clinic in Crown Point. Some of the items collected included non-perishable food items, infant formula, baby clothes up to size 3T and anything else that was offered.

Franciscan employees strongly support the mission of this clinic and believe it is what being a ‘Franciscan’ is all about. The donation was also open to the public.

Franciscan St. Anthony Health - Crown Point’s Prenatal Assistance Program, offered through the St. Clare Health Clinic, provides outreach services to expectant mothers in Lake, Porter, Jasper & Newton counties with limited family income to assist them in accessing the health care system, public assistance programs, as well as community and hospital services.

Some of their services include free pregnancy testing, referral and assistance with accessing community and hospital resources, nutritional and pregnancy related education, regular and supportive contacts during pregnancy, mother and infant care teaching after delivery and a place for infant clothing and supplies to aid the expectant mother.

The St. Clare Health Clinic is always in need of donated items to keep their program flourishing. Franciscan Physicians Hospital and Franciscan Hammond Clinic expect to do another collection in the future.
