"Grab the Girls and Go” encourages women to schedule mammograms.
Franciscan St. Elizabeth Health - Crawfordsville, the Marie Canine Cancer Center, Faith Alliance and the Spirit of Women will host “Grab the Girls and Go” as a way to encourage women to schedule mammograms and offer an opportunity for women to see and learn about Franciscan St. Elizabeth Health’s digital mammography suite.
The event, “Grab the Girls and Go” will be from 5 to 8 p.m. on Thursday, Oct. 25 at the Franciscan St. Elizabeth Health Diagnostic and Surgical Center, 1660 Lafayette Rd. in Crawfordsville. At “Grab the Girls and Go” you can schedule a screening mammogram, get information on bras and wigs from representatives of Merle Norman of Crawfordsville, items from Pampered Chef representative Bobby Manion, and check out other resources from Franciscan St. Elizabeth Health, Marie Canine Cancer Center and Franciscan Physician Network. Light refreshments from Audrey’s Pumpkin Rolls will be served. Drawings for door prizes will be held as well.
Everyone is welcome to participate in this event, even if you have your mammogram scheduled at another time.
As part of the partnership, FAITH Alliance is working with Franciscan St. Elizabeth Health – Crawfordsville to provide mammograms for 50 women of Montgomery County who do not have insurance or the ability to pay for a mammogram.
“FAITH Alliance is excited to work with Franciscan St. Elizabeth Health – Crawfordsville in providing this opportunity to our community. It is extremely important that women schedule appointments with their health care providers and also schedule their mammograms,” said Sasha Clements, co-founder of FAITH Alliance. “By working with Franciscan St. Elizabeth Health – Crawfordsville we’re also making sure that women who don’t have access to a physician can still have access to a mammogram and the proper follow up.”
Physicians and staff members will be on site to answer general questions about mammograms.
